I have a bald spots on the front of my head with a little bit of hair over it. Ive been to the doctor and i was told it could be hormones and it should stop soon. But it didnt What could it be? What could i do to regrow the hair?Hair loss in women question?
It very likely could be your hormones. I would get a good dandruff shampoo and see if that helps also. Dandruff is a fungus that can get worst, if not treated.

I found a few sites that may help you understand the hair loss:

It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion. Also, dandruff can actually *cause* hair loss, so controlling it might stop the hair loss. Rogaine is likely to stop, slow, or reverse the hair loss if you suffer from female pattern hair loss. Its best if you start taking it early and it won't hurt if you try it.

Go for a checkup to rule out a thyroid or autoimmune disease (lupus and alopecia areata); a blood test might diagnose a hormone problem; ask a pharmacist if there are any side-effects to any medications you might be taking. Its possible that you may suffer from mercury contamination from eating too much fish (more than three fish a week is not safe anymore). Try to simplify your life and avoid stress (easier said, I suppose....) and make sure you've got enough vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, and protein in your diet.

I encourage you to see another dermatologist, one who will explore all the possible causes with you. In the meantime, try Rogaine. That stuff isn't a scam. (Nioxxin shampoo is also worth a try.)

Most of the commercial shampoos and conditioners on the market contain toxic chemicals that actually irritate the scalp, erode at the hair folicle and cause dandruff like symptoms. The two main chemicals are SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) and Propylene glycol - check out your shampoo... I am a distributor for Neways, a company that makes 100% non toxic hair care, skin care and cosmetics. A friend of mine suffered from dandruff for years and the antidandruff shampoo's she tried didn't help much at all. She tried the Neways range and her dandruff was gone within 1 week. Her hair started getting thicker too because the otherwise clogged hair folicles were actually getting to do their thing! You will not find neways in retail stores. I am a distributor in NSW but there are distributors all over Australia. Best of Luck! Heidi
Try using Nioxin. It was recommended to me by my Supercuts girl and it helped nourish my scalp and follicles.
